Paint them black and polish all the edges. Thats what I'm going to do with the honeycomb rims on my old trans am.

Try using a polish called Magic mix. They'll shine right up almost look like polished alluminum.

Thats what I would do. except I would PC the inside/ grey part, in mirror Black than polish the edges really good, than PC the whole rim with a clear coat so that I wouldn't have to keep polishing it. That would look sweet!!! :D

Negative on them rims bro...

For the 83 Monte Carlo, you need some 20" spinners....

Some Spreewells, or spin-tecs...any older car like that w/ some spinner's would look bad arse...

That would be the easiet and fastest way other than paying some one else to do it.

Polishing that whole wheel though it may end up looking good just doesnt seem to be worth the trouble.

I am or was polishing some 16" American racing rims (for a pu etc) that are aluminium and they were a real ******. Even forgetting the fact that the damn compressor seized up after only getting 2 finished they and yours will need to be sanded well also and then it becomes a 3 part job (sanding, buff and polish) and these arent some little oil filter covers or what ever.

Forget all the BS about powder coating this stuff and from what I know I dont think your wanting to put mega $$$ into these wheels so just get a fine wire wheel that will go onto your drill and clean them up real real good then wipe the down with some degreaser or even better laquer thinner tape off what you dont want paint on (the edges your gonna polish) and paint it with the laquer based type spray cans that pep boys or wallymart sell for the color match like duplicolor etc.

That stuff will stick to these wheels like crazy if you just get them real clean and start with super light "dusting" coats before laying it on heavier.

The ones I have seen done this way (or even some with urethane enamel like the imron or ?) have looked great and held up very well.

If you got more direct questions on this econo way just PM or post more here.

I hope your not talking about me w/ the Rice Guys....

20's def. ain't no rice... 20's and above is Big Ballin style.. you know suv's,trucks, w/ all the stereo and audio stuff...not the gay 17in rims, spoiler, and stickers...

anyway, just wanted to fill you in about that...

Also, 24's?that would be too big,20's would be nice..

a 305 big block?

1st of all,if you want power,a 305 is a no no... 327 350 yes...

Also the 305 is a small-block, the smallest Big block is a 396...

It seems to me,you need to read some more hot rod magazines or something...

Well,

I was just tryin to tell the boy the 305 wasn't a big block, and its not really the greatest motor.....i don't know why i babble on soemtimes...

also Cows, if you can get ahold of a 350, put hem 305 heads on it,and you'll be getting more performance..

so it wont bolt rght up or fit in there??i dont want to ruin anything....whats the biggest engine i can fit in there??

hondafox440
07-31-2003, 11:16 AM
Even if you got the 54 in there it would destroy the frame. Your grocery getter that pumps out like 120HP stock isn't made for a 465HP engine.

I wouldn't bother trying to pimp out a car like that. Either get a classic Chevy or some new car/truck..

I always see nice montes that burn ricers and other muscle cars....ss is supersport i think it can handle it

DREWS400EX
07-31-2003, 02:54 PM
I dont see why your monte couldnt handle a 454. Its a full frame car, people do it all the time. If your going to do it, the headers are about $400:eek2: The only things I would worry about is the tranny and maybe the rear end breaking.

danney f
07-31-2003, 04:32 PM
A 454 will fit, but there is no need for it. A 350 can be made to put out more power than you will ever need on the street. And will get a heck of a lot better gas milage.

the biggest chevy s/b is the 400. almost the same as a 350 but its externally ballanced and the heads are different. Take the crank out and drop it in a 350 block, with a little bit of machining work, u can build urself a 383 stroker with huge amounts of power:D
