I think they are pretty good but i've never had them! I would go with Oneal or Tag. I have rolled with my tag's a few times and still haven't bent! Same with my Oneals on my old quad.

btw....the Tag bars LOOK really cool too

MSR are very low quality bars...get Tag, Renthal, Pro Taper, or something.

i like mine, there 30 bucks and i rolled mine 1 time and never bent them, and the quad was upside down

I've heard the MSR were good bars. They were my next choice, but I ended up getting the Tusk T-7's (same look as the MSR's) and I'm real happy w/ them so far (Christmas) w/ a few rollovers they've held up real well and they were only $32.99 from Rocky Mnt. :D

I had a set.
They held up good, But I wanted a diffrent bend so I sold them and got renthals.
they are a good bar for the $$

well i have to say MSR did it for me with these bars. i love em. they are comfortable and cheap and both of those words fly well with me. although i have never rolled my blaster when i had it they held up to a beating.

so i should get MSRs?

Id just go for the MSR's unless your willing to spend the extra money for expensive bars. I have MSR dominators with a Tag crossbar pad to make them look expensive.:D They've held up pretty good so far.

the only reason im gonan buy t2s is i like how they look, id rather keep bending 30 dollar bars then bend 60-80 dollar ones, just because they cost alot doesnt mean they dont bend

Hello Guys:

I am wondering why anyone would post that MSR bars are not good bars? How would they know? I really doubt MSR makes a cheap bar.

The point is, you have to be careful about what you post as being "good" or not so good. There are a LOT of people that will make posts and comments about parts they have never owned, (only to see their own post I assume), and it can be completely untrue. That is very damaging to what may be a good product or company. I'm sure the MSR bars aren't much different than most others. In fact, most bars come from only a couple manufacturing sources, and it's really a matter of bend choices.

300ex right? There's room on the right side on the ring that goes around the tank just in front of the steering stem. Good luck with the bars. I like mine but I haven't crash tested them yet.

I assume your referring to me. I have seen in person how the "cheaper brand" bars hold up. Fly, MSR, and even Renthals (7/8" ones) are the ones that come off the top of my head. I seen people hit the same jumps I do, and had their bars BREAK...and thats on more than one occasion. Thats why I say their low quality. If I can hit the same jump with my Tag T2's and keep on riding, that has to tell ya something. Just my opinion on the subject though :p

Just my opinion on the subject though :p ive seen the same thing..i was riding at my local pits(TNI) and i was j8umping a berm...geting a good 5-6 ft or air...a guy with a raptor had FLY handle bars..he hit the jump about 7-8 times..and on the last one..his handle bar litleraly snapped right befre his clutch pearch....i hit the jumps a good 20 times with my renthals and didnt have 1 problem

07-18-2003, 04:37 PM
i think thats a common problem with fly bars...

aaaaaaaaaaayhhhhhhhhhhhhhummmmmm, jon;)

I am wondering where the bars snapped, and if they had been crashed previously?

One of the things that will really weaken a bar is the clamps themselves. That is where all the stress is, and the clamps really need to have a radius on them so there is not a sharp corner at the edge of the clamp.

07-19-2003, 04:36 AM
they break where the cross bar goes on

I thought you were talking about the fat bars or pro tapers. I think most of those are pretty good quality, but I can see how there could be more problems with the standard style.

07-22-2003, 03:44 PM
out_sider i just ordered a set for my lil sisters 250ex. these bars seem very good. they are pretty much the same as renthals at half the price. my sister goes through handlebars like PAPPY goes through quads. we'll see how these hold up within the next month. she bent a set of renthals and 2 sets of stockers in the past 6 months.

07-22-2003, 04:05 PM
why are you getting fly over msr if you dont mind me asking?

Out_Sider
07-22-2003, 04:09 PM
idk, my friend just bought some FLY handlebars, and they look pretty trick (they are blue), and i was gonna get some red ones, but if the MSRs are better, i'll just get Red Alum. MSRs

07-22-2003, 04:11 PM
i like the msrs better i think there a better bar and they look better, youll be happy with either

Out_Sider
07-22-2003, 04:13 PM
so i should stick with the MSRs, do they come with a handle bar pad and everything?

300exOH
07-22-2003, 04:15 PM
all bars will bend when you crash. save yourself the cash and get the MSR's. you won't be sorry.

300exOH
07-22-2003, 04:17 PM
yep they come with a pad too:D

Out_Sider
07-22-2003, 04:56 PM
u can get MSR Dominators in Anodized red too cant u?

user101
07-23-2003, 07:00 AM
the MSR ATV bend is the exact same bend as the Renthal atv bend.

no the MSR's do not come in any anodized colors. but they are shiney:cool: :p

like freeride said save urself the trouble and get the MSR's any bar will bend if force is applied at the right amount of angle

07-23-2003, 07:10 AM
Fly bars will bend if a fly lands on them.....:ermm:

I seen Jon Guetter break a set landing a small jump... Spend the money on good bars...:macho

Out_Sider
07-23-2003, 12:13 PM
so MSRs are better than FLYs, and about the same as Renthals???
