Return from Dunetopia........St. Anthonys group ride.

WEll I just got back today and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!What a trip!!!:blah: We had a great turn out of riders from Exriders and one from Wyoduners web site,also a few locals.This was the best bunch of people I think Ive ever rode with.;) Exriders were: Thorchick,AndrewRRR,Dune Surfer,out4sand,Natertot426ex,Raptor Rules,Justin St. Jeor,Yamisaki somehow we missed you...:(.....(please forgive me if I forgot anyone:o ) There was somewhere around 20 plus that showed up.No injuries to report and only one break down the last day of the trip for one rider.The weather was VERY HOT Im thinking it was around 100DG or better a few days. One day we had winds of around 40-50 MPH but by later that eve. it settled down..I have a ton of pics Im going to post so give me a few minutes to resize them all... I have some short clips also.but unfortunately.....they turned out like chit:o :p :( .... (time to figure out how to use my new digi camcorder for short clips...)If ANY of you have a chance to come out and ride the dunes in Idaho......DO!!!!!!!! Weather is often hard to determine if you go in the spring, but if you can stand some heat, your pretty much guarenteed a good ride....;) .......Im already looking forward to next year ride, and a trip to the Ore coast.....I was VERY glad to have meet you all,lets try and get together again in the future...... This is over near the resort I think.Its smaller stuff but ALOT more razorbacks and witches eyes. theres some really good jumps on this side but the good bowls are all over on the other side where the big dunes are..my Next trip out I want to start WAAAYYYY down where no one go's and ride ...:)

We'll post some of our pictures now, though they aren't as good as I thought once I resized them. We had a great time this weekend and met some very cool people we wished we lived a lot closer to. Hopefully this year goes by quickly so that the next EXRiders ride comes quickly, especially if its going to be here in Oregon. And I still owe Tina a drink since we never got around to finishing off my raspberry vodka and lemonade. We'll camp on the dunes when you guys come here Tina and you and I can get sloshed, hehehe.:devil:

QJ, the sand looks soooo soft in the pics. How is it riding? I know the dunes at Pismo can get a little rough in some spots, although there are some really nice soft spots. In all your pics the sand looks absolutely perfect though! Is it really that nice or does it just look that way cause the pics?

I am going there in Aug. I am dissapointed that choke cherri is easy to make it up. I was looking for a challenge for the 350pv. Was the 400ex moded? Is there anything difficult?

I really like the one with everyone lined up in the lip of a dune, that would be really cool to see in person.

I just got back from Coos Bay/ Horsefall where I met up with a bunch of people from nwquadriders (http://www.nwquadriders.com) We had a great time as well and the weather was great, even with the occasional wind storm. I even have the same sunburnt nose!:p It's a strange feeling riding up and over a dune when it is real windy, getting sandbalsted and can hardly see the edge of the dune!

I should have pics up by the end ofthe week:)

Let me know asap on the next "Dunetopia" trip, I really want to go. When do you plan on coming out this way?

My friend Jon that was with me had to go to work out of town for the next few days so He may not get the pictures sent to me until next week but he has some really awesome ones too. It was nice meeting all of you and can't wait to do it again.

Joe Joe,Im thinking prol. around this same time of year next year,that way Im passed the major holidays(I have to work most of them) and we will be out of the rainy weather(I remember living in Hebo and it raining all the time)We will be out for about a week I think for the trip out your way thatway we can play for a day at Winchester,Coos Bay, Florence ect..Sucks for TRoy ....:( HE will have to go to stock pipe for the trip out there ...DB level is a 105:eek: on the Predator,in Idaho we dont have a DB....

I just got home, Stopped in salt lake to get my counter sprocket seal repaired. No problem. It was covered under warrenty. What a great trip:D By far the best groop trip I have been on. !! Tina and Troy were great host. I think everyone in the groop had a good time. Big dunes, good riders, over all a fantastic time. Troy is funny as he** and can ride like the devil. Tina is a sweetheart. Out for sand. is way cool, Nate, Wyo, and the rest were a ball to ride with. Well worth the drive. I'll post some pics later when I get some rest.

It wasw a Looooonnnnng drive but worth it;) Everyone was great. I had a great time riding with eveyone. Espeacially Troy, that boy can ride:D plus if he ever needs a job he can do stand up (comedy)
Mike aka out for sand, Is super cool. He is a good rider and his shee hauls!!. We like to ride the same, blowing through the bowls FAST.
Nate is mellow and his 426ex is fast. he is also a good rider but his ex would get pretty hot ripping through the bowls. Jon, nate's friend is cool and that pic of him jumping is awesome.
Thorchick and Andrew drove over from Oregon and were good people (thorchick can ride)
Tina was our PC ( party coodinator) and made sure everyone had a good time....WE DID:D :D
Justin and his wife were nice, I'm glad they made it up from SLC.
Bob and his wife drove over from Jackson Wy. and were cool. Picture a tall drink of water cowboy and you get Bob;)
Troy and Tina's friends Brad and Ryan were fun although Brad's wife was a little touchy

This was one of the best groop trips I have ever been on. The vibe was perfect, the riding was great, the dunes were BIG and smooth. We did alot of jumping:D :D , climbing, and bowl riding. Saint Anthony's rocks!!!

Don't worry about finding difficult terrain, the biggest dunes in the country. I ride glamis all the time and st A's is taller. you will be able to challenge yourself:D

When i went to the hospital i told them i was riding out in the desert in Boise for just that reason. I didnt want them getting hassled for any reason. And yes I have thought about going up to the mountains and doing a trail ride, Is that bad, I still have metal sticking out of my arm and want to get back on. lol.

I had a grrrrrrrrreat time with you all. Riding the sands of St A's is always a blast and it was really neat to meet you all. Large group rides can be interesting to say the least at times but this one turned out to be a very good time.

hey that sux i missed you guys, i think i saw you by thunder when you took the pics on page two... there was a stock black/white shee with six pack rack, stock KFX400, modded white/blue R and a modded white/yellow blaster with race front (only blaster i saw there with the race front)..... we ended up leaving on sunday at about 12 in the morning

A carb vent tube got wraped around the counter sprocket shaft and destroyed the seal. Had to get towed back from choke. No big deal I had it fixed in Salt Lake on the way home. I rode the piss out of it last weekend and everything is fine. I had a blast riding with you guys. I hope we can do it again.:D

Cheap a** screws:mad: I cut a slot in the head of each screw and used a regular screwdriver to get them out. It's rejetted now. I rode in the mountians last weekend at about 5000 feet and it was rich, at sea level I think it is about right. Your coming down to Glamis this year right?:D :D

I'm popping the question to my girl soon as well...and she's pretty cool with the camping and duning thing...but roosting her with sand on her wedding day is liable to get the person riding the quad killed.

Agent Orange, first off.. welcome to the site;)

Second, the Oregon dunes are sweet too, milder climate as well, but I must say the dunes are alot different in Idaho.. MUCH BIGGER and STEEPER! The sand is much different, I dont know really how to explain it other than you MUST MAKE THE DRIVE! You will be sooooooooo glad you did, I promsie you that :blah:
