A girl was driving her escort through the pits and she was going a little to fast and she ran right into the race car that was going back to his pits. She pushed him about 30 ft from where he was. http://66.227.101.70/cwm/cwm/eek2.gif She also damaged quite a few cars along with it. The guy in the race car hit his head and had to go to the hospital to get 8 staples in his head but he came back and raced again.

Boy i would hate be her insurance agent!!

Her insurance wont cover it . The race track and it's grounds are what is called a Closed Course , similar to an MX track . When we owned our race car , if there was any damage that happened to it while at the track , the car was not covered . It sucks , but thats the way it goes.

thats pretty much what i am guessing....just goes to show you that you to obey the speed limit set by the track (10 mph).

Yes, it was Fun Ford Weekend (drag race) at Norwalk Raceway Park in Ohio. They have Super Chevy Show (in the next two weeks), Chrysler Classic's in mid August???

A crash in the parking lot is a fender bender compared to what can happen at a dragstrip on the strip itself....:p

i know when i used to go to the loc track here you sign a waver.. so even if the insurance doesnt cover it you cant sue the track.. and its on prvt property so most likely they will denie her and everyone eles

At our local tracks we always have to sign a waver, even if you aren't the driver.

Oh yes, we have seen our share of crashes of the years. Just last month we went to Columbus, Ohio to see the big boys run (for you that know drag racing--John Force, Tony Petergon etc). There was a couple that lost control and flipped on their lids. But all the drivers were fine. Just a few months ago a new driver (his son took over the racing), flew over the wall and flipped the dragster several times and ended up breaking a few bones in his back and bruising his ribs. So he is out for the rest of the season.

Its a scary thing, but it is sure fun!!
