I was looking into getting new tires on my 250ex and was wondering what are some of the better ones out there. Also what does the ply rating mean?

I dont have any yet but all I hear is Razrs all the way. Thats whats on my list of things to do. Ply is how many plys, or layers there is to the tire. Razrs come in 4 and 6, Ive heard the 6 ply Razrs are almost indestructable.

I have Bearclaws on my 250ex, there awesome, ican keep up with 4x4 quads with them.....Their also 8 ply, so very very strong, i really recommend these.

I run both Holeshots and Bandits. (not at the same time of course..lol) Both are good tires.
For what it's worth, the last two GNCC races we've went too, most quads had either Razrs or Holeshots... and they get into some mud too.

I have some Maxxis sur tracks on my 400 and they seem like a good tire so far. Only downside is that because they are so good in mud that when you finally do get stuck your screwed. Plus they are reversable for sand and snow

Last I herd Kenda Bearclaws are only 6 ply not 8.

My 20'' Razr2 rears are pretty sweet.

My Razrs do good in the mud and great on trail...they are 6 ply so no problems with them yet... they also allow some slidding with me anyway...

I'd say go with the 20" Kenda Klaws. They have a directional pattern so you can flip them for harder or softer terrain
