I was just wondering what you all did for your occupation. I noticed some people have tricked out quads with about 10 grand in them and quads for their children and a nice house and maybe a sea doo and all of that stuff. I was just wondering how you all afford all of that. :eek2:

I work at an automotive remanufacturing plant. I basically spend the whole day taking apart electric automotive motors and I clean up all the little parts and circuit boards and get them ready to be rebuilt.

That is a boring job. But I'm living large at work w/ my big fan (that only blows hot air cause it's so hot in the shop) and my CD player that I can't hear cause I have the rock shaker on all day. I also have a boss that *****es constantly and is about to have to wear his back brace again if he doesn't ease up off.

Hey Joe, I don't know about XC racing. Last time I went trail riding, my motor almost overheated, and from what I've seen from my XC racing buddies, it's pretty hard on the bike. I just got out of quad racing because it was to expensive for me so I don't think I need to make bike racing any more expensive by having to fix stuff on the bike all the time. I'm just gonna stick to MX for now.

G-codes, ala okuma, and maazak are easy to learn, and are good ones to start with. Macro's are a pain in the butt(robo drill, okk, hitachi), and I'm still learning them. Mostly just on my own. The way most 3d tool programms are set up now day's it's just point and click. Learn how to use the icons and features in your programming, and in what order to do it in.

I don't think I ever heard of it before is it a program or what:confused: I havn't got to do a whole lot of programming but what I did get to do was fun:cool: I think its pretty cool running cnc machines too. But I think since I go to tech and it is a three year program i will prob work more with the cnc's this year:devil: Since i'm on my third year:devil: After I graduate from school this year I hopefully will learn more at college too:scary:

If it was a small machining shop, they either program there stuff using a tool program, there are many out there to choose from, but laying a job out is always done in expert cad, cad 3d, and or expert cam. If there small they probrably don't have the money to be running a dnc server (wich we have, and it makes things so much easier). If he was running a lathe, he was probraly talking about old school g code programming. I've never heard of someone calling it gibs though. A good start would be running a lather, learning how to program x and z movements. How to program a cycle (g80-g81) What cutter comp is (g40-g41) X and z radiuses (g02,g03) Simple stuff like turning on the coolant (m08)
Start on a lathe, then move to milling.

If I were you I'd look into a drafting position of some sort also. It's actually easier, and there are more job opportunities available.

What is my occupation? It depends what day of the week it is. I am 17 and its summer so i am working my butt off. On sundays and mondays i work with a landscaper. Tues-friday i work 6.30am-11am putting up retainwalls and such for a guy at his house. Then i got home and shower and go work at the local kawi/ktm/gas gas/cdale dealership as a parts guy from 12-8. Saturday i work 9-4 at the dealership.

Sure i am hard working. But i am the only 17 year old around driving a 34k 2003 2500hd, riding a pimp 250r and looking at putting a F4i in the garage.
