View Full Version : Cant afford a powder coat next best?

I cant offford powder coating, what would be the next best thing because my frame is all ready rusting around the edges and i wanna fix it so it looks nice a new. I dont think normal paint will be tuff enougth is thaire a some thing else's i could use.

Dupont centari car paint is tough as hell.
I have painted car motors with it, holds up great.

save till you can afford it there really isnt a substitute !! get ahold of Pappy on here im sure he can hook you up !! shipping is only like 40 dollars no more then 70 but thats the most it would cost to ship !! you can save some money by getting it sandblasted locally or somethin like that or maybe you can sandblast it yourself?! just some help hope it works out for you !! but there really isnt a substitute for powder !!

electro-statically painting works quite well. I did that to the 400ex I am selling and its held up good. But I dont ride it hard like I do my.:rolleyes:

Por-15 is pretty darn expensive, like over $80 per gallon.

But you dont need near a gallon to do a frame, u only need like a pint or a quart. Some people are able to do 2 frames with a quart.

i por15'd my 300ex frame in november and a quart will do the whole frame swinger an a arms 2...i sold it in april and i hear from the owner now it still looks great
