exaust paint

i painted my exaust with 1300 degree paint and it all flaked off is there any other paint that woulded bubble and flake off....im probobly just gunna have it blackplated by a freind of mine but if i dont have to i wont

I used high enamel (sorry i dunno if thats spelt right) paint and I've gone riding for the last 3 days and its holding great.

I tried painting my exhaust, but the darn paint kept flying backwards every time I revved the engine.. I fixed it though, I poured a gallon of oil in the tank and now my exhaust is blue! Looks real cool!

Hey FreeStylexrider, where did you get the "high enamel" paint at and how much did you pay for it? What color did you do yours? Any pictures of it you could post?

I saw in the tech section of an ATV mag that painting the inside of your head pipe w/ high temp exhaust paint will keep the chrome or polished outside from fading. Is there any truth to this?

why would you fill the tank with oil... wouldent that mess the engine up/

John Deere makes a real good exhaust paint. I have used it on one of my trucks and a few tractors. ;) It is kind of pricey about $10 a can, but it works.

Oh! You meant painting the exhaust PIPE! I kinda wondered why one would want to paint thier exhaust!

i wonder if you could put some kind of insert in your muffler that would make your exaust a color and make it stand out, that would be kinda cool, lol

I don't know about "coloring" your exhaust............but one time in summit Racing Catalog I saw some additive for your fuel so that your exhaust fumes would smell,,,, like strawberry if that was what you were to purchase. What will they think of next????

Yeah I know...............but the smell stuff is real. I just can't imagine strawberry gasoline..............or pina colada for that matter. They had something like 20 "flavors".

I heard about that trick for spraying the pipe too. I have the issue and it says to spray high heat automotive engine paint INSIDE the header pipe.It also said to apply a fresh coat every time you remove the pipe and that VHT brand white works best. I think that would help alot.:D

i belive the paint inside the pipe was more for 2 strokes that 4 stroke but i'm not sure. i've head of like jet coating the insides 2 but don't know much on it
