OK, i could have sworn i read on here that some one said you cannot use a gas oven, but i just got this off a web site.

Should I buy a gas, electric, or infrared oven?
Both gas and electric ovens work well. And infrared ovens work well if designed properly. However, electric ovens take longer to reach the proper baking temperature. Obviously, the faster the oven heats up, the faster your products will be powder coated.

that is exactly what it said. If i can use a gas oven, i can get 2 pizza ovens for free. ya know those giand things....my sisters boyfriend owns a pizza place...hehehe
and how much paint do i need to cover all 4 rims??

I heard you can and cant from different people. I use an electric one that I got off of ebay. It was used in a resturant and reaches 375*-400* very quickly for being electric IMO. Do you already have a powder coat gun to spray the powder on ? You might want to buy 1 pound because it might be just over 1/2 a pound. This is just my guess though:ermm:

no i dont have a gun yet, my sisters boyfriend and i are gona powdercoat like his car parts, and streetbike, and my ex. he is gonna supply the oven, and i am gonna get the columbia gun. We can get a big gas oven, or the kitchen electric, thats why i asked. so will a pound cover all the wheels or more....where are ya pappy???

Almost all industrial pc ovens are gas you should be ok.

correct ,gas is the most widely used oven for commercial pc work. but i wouldnt use a gas house oven due to the fact it isnt properly vented . with electric the chance of fume evactuation isnt as critical and is much safer for the hobbiest.

i couldnt tell ya how well a pizza oven would work but with its temp controls and heating elements you could get creative and have a fairly simple oven built.

I'm not sure about the pizza ovens, but i know our commercial gas ovens at work have huge vents on them like 8inx4in compared to a house oven with 1inx3in.
