Anyone put a standard bore 11:1 piston and a TC XC cam? If so what kinda results did you notice? Worth the money? I think the TC cam is 179 and the piston kit is 140.

I was told if you take a stock head gasket and take half of the gasket away, they are a two paper design, it will put you over a 11:1 compression. It might be something to look into. It would also be cheaper than buying a new piston.

I had that combination and it worked great..You may need to mix race gas with 92 octane for the 11:1. Mine was detonating under load on just 92 octane or just ask TC for a 10.5:1 piston for straight pump gas.
The TC cam works awesome on a very mild motor like you asked about or even a highly built stroker. I still have my first XC cam with stock Honda rockers for 3 years of racing now with minimal wear.
Good Luck.

i have the tc mx grind cam and a je 10.8:1 bored .40 (406) piston and i noticed great gains from this set up... the cam was 205$ and my piston was 131 i think... i put in a new set of stock rockers when i did this also... the 10.8:1 runs on 94 octane sunoco gas fine... i think thats the highest u can go on reg pump gas... 11 to one may need 50/50 hope this helps... tommy

Thats exactly what I'm doing with mine in a couple of weeks, 11:1 std. I plan on getting the piston kit from James Lucky for 112.50 and getting the cam from webcams for 160.00. Does it really matter if I get the cam from TC or webcam??? Also, I'm not to fimiliar on this stuff so I'm not sure what to expect but I do know obviously I will see gains in everyway but I'm not sure on how much???

I ran this setup starting with Okeechobee and changed to 416 (due to motor problems). I am happy with it, but I would always like more power. I have to mix at least 50/50 (93 octane / 108 VP) or the motor would ping under heavy load, which didn't help my headgaskets at all. For next I will increase HP otherways but will be keeping the piston and cam setup.

The TC XC Cam is $179. A TC 425 Piston Kit is $120. I wouldn`t think a Stock Bore Piston would cost much more than that. I think this setup would be very good. I think I`m going to get a TC 416 Piston and XC Cam.

465Stroker, that`s good to hear about your Cam. Three years with out doing anything to the Rockers. Have they ever been touched since your quad was new? Also, did you do any Clutch mods when you had your 425 Motor? If I don`t have to do anything to the Clutch, all I would be paying for is the Piston Kit, Cam, other Little Parts Needed, and Labor. I could build a Motor for around $500. That would be cool.
