Hey.
I am in the market for a new quad.
I am going to use it for motocross, freestyle, and also just recreational riding.
I was going to buy a suzuki quadracer, but i thought that after i modified it for motocross, that in the even that i would need to sell it, I would not be able to get nearly the amount of money back that i put into it because of the low demand for quadracers these days.
So, I need to know which would be a better choice.
Cannondale cannibal
Polaris Predator
Yamaha yfz 450
or some other quad.
Thanks.

I would say the yamaha because you will have to throw less at the engine to make it right near the legal max limit for motorcross.
Just some air work, and a pipe and maybe some more compression..
All you would do is chassis upgrades, but you will do that with ANY atv you buy for racing.

The predator is over the limit so i would say no, the quadracer which i assume you mean the z400?? wil nead engine work to be a serious racing contender.

I'd go with the predator out of those choices...who knows about cannondale and their situation, quadracer is aged and like you said money, the yz hasn't proven itself yet.

predator is over the limit- i wouldnt get the cannondale because of there situation right now- Z would take alot of work for motocross- so i would go with the yammi cuz all its needs is a pipe and the engine is good, and ofcourse you will have to do a-arms, axle, etc. just like you would with any other quad.

i would go with a dale or the yzf450. if u go dale go moto 440 because then your basically for some small mx races. nothing serious. with the yzf u gotta do more chassis upgrades. but hey to each his own

I finally saved enough money to put a sizable down payment on one of the above atvs:D . I have been saving for like 2 years so i am reallllly happy right now.
I am going to go to a local cannondale dealership this week and test ride and possibly buy a 2003 cannibal.
How much would be a good price for a brand new one?
I am going to install a moto front end and nerfbars on it pretty much as soon as i buy it.
I am willing to take the risk of buying a cannondale, because i am sure the aftermarket companies will continue to make parts for it for many years (sorta like what happend with the 250r's).

Are there any things i should look at when buying a new cannibal?
Like the updates on them or something like that?
How do I find an atv dealership near me that still sells cannondales?
