I'm starting to get into the track scene with my stock suspensioned 02' 400ex. I weigh between 230-240 and wondering if anybody of the same weight jumps alot with their stock shocks and swingarm. Any wisdom in this area will help.
Thanks,
John

I am 6'0'' and weigh 190. I don't see how you are riding on a track with those stock shocks. I would bottom the stockers out hitting a bump in the track! I use Works triple rates w/o rezzies and the stock rear shock. I never bottom out anymore. So I would go with Works if you don't want to spend much money.

 you can run stock shocks but i believe that they are valved for about a 180 pound recreation riderr. the bigger you are the more noticable aftermarket shocks are gonna be, because you will get them setup for your weight, your bike and your rider abilitys and style. if you are going to buy works get the best one the pro series NOT the at steelers wich IMO are junk, smaller shafts, differnt meterial for the springs, and cheaper hardware. if you plan on racing and feel pretty serious i would look into maybe a higher end shock such as PEP or AXIS

Thanks for your replies,
I emailed our site sponsor,C& D and he mentioned works triple rates and even some economy elks for 550. He said stock rear should hang for now. I'm going to Haspin tomorrow on stock for now.
Happy Trails!
John
