skid plate / surf board

I got a Quadboss skid plate for my 400. I dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing. Now it has about 2" of ground clearance in the rear. I get stuck where i could easily make it before. I know its worth it because it protects my rear end. any suggestions?

get taller tires or go through the rutted stuff faster so you just slide on top over it

yea ill guess i'll have to re gear it as in a smaller front sprocket
