Ok, well since I have my motor totally disassembled. I am thinking of giving it some more power.

I want to run on regular pump gas, instead of the hassle of race gas. I havent really researched into this, so if some of you could help me out that would be great. I want to do everything right the first time, not screwing up my motor again. Should I get a high-comp piston??? I want my quad to still be reliable and not always fixing it. How much money am I looking at ?

i like my 416 i have no complaints and dont see any advantage to a 440, if you do a 416 right

It dependes on what you want to spend. For the money the 416 is a great way to go it really boosts the HP on the 400ex and works really well for mx. The 426 is also good but can cost more if you choose to resleeve the bike to get better cooling from a thicker sleeve. As for the 440 it has more torgue than the smaller kits but it also revs slower and has more vibrations. I have had no problem with any of they kits as long as they are installed and maintained correctly.

In my opinion get the $16 with a Je or Ross 416 pistons kit 10.8 to1 comp with a stage 2 hotcam.:)

Well I can get a cam from a friend at the track for cheap. Also Where can I get the JE or a Ross kit. By running the 10.8 : 1 comp, I can run pump gas correct??? How much does this kit cost?

marcums was sellin 416 kits for 200 i think or 150, you can run pump gas unless its 12;1 or higher

You get one from C&D Racing the site sponcor for $120 that is your choice of Ross or JE:). The piston kit comes with piston, rings, and wrist pin. The gaskets are $20 for standard kit or $40 for steel flex kit.

You do not need to "drill" the sleeve for a 416 kit ??

No you do have to "bore" the cylinder for a 416. Just a little though.;)
