A-arm Bearing Removal

i cant figure out how to get the little gold rings out that hold the bearings in. What the fudge do i do, ive also tryed pressing them out with the vise and a socket

On stock A-arms?

Try a very small screwdriver or even a utility blade tip to get under it and pry it up and out. Try prying at the ends to get under it.

ummm, they make a tool for that and it makes it real easy, well u prob dont have one, so try needle nose plyers, they will get the job done!!

needle nose plyers cant touch that, and the little screwdriver didnt do any good either. I tryed a pocket knie and it was useless:confused: :mad:

go to the supermarket and get those cheesy glasses repair kits that have the really small flathead screwdriver. Thats the only thing that was able to get the c clips out for me.:cool:

I guess i just have to try harder, cuz i have a little eye glass screwdriver, the flat head is like 2-3 mm wide:rolleyes:

i had one that the tip was about 1 mm and very sharp. ive heard u can also use a very sharp ice pick or an envelope opener.

I got em out, took a grinder to the lil c clips until they warped, then i could slip the screw driver under em.:D

You know they make a tool, its called a snap ring puller, its like 12 bucks. I have found that jobs become a lot easier when you have the correct tools to work with.
