Spywear = kazaa,morpheous,imesh and grokster

IM PISSED:cuss: ...i just deleted in the last 2 days kazaa grokster morpheous and imesh because of spywear....i hate this crap...does anyone have any suggestion to which music program i should get?

they were loading so much crap on my computer i was running low on memmory:cuss:

Kazaa Lite is great, its the same as kazaa but no spyware or popups

Also download a program called Spybot to delete all your spyware if you haven't allready.

Bearshare is pretty good its what i use and where do you get the spybot thing at. Oh and i also heard they are starting to sue over the music downloading again so im holding off on downloading for a while. Im gonna wait and see what happens.

winmx is good!! theres also this program called hotline connect client, its bigger that any other program out there, adnything u are looking for someone will have it and even if they are offline u can still get it off of them!!! one of my buddies showed me this, its still real confusing to me!! im getting a hang of it though:D

any of the "music sharing" programs you guys are talking about are the worst things you can download. a couple of reasons why:

by design, the kazaa type apps turn your pc into a file sharing "server" allowing content to be saved and retrieved. its great for getting free music, however like the spyware you are talking about, it can also lead to other content being added (or removed) without your knowledge. specifically, bad things like child porn, viruses, and other types of copyrighted material. if you have a broadband connection (dsl or cable) then you are at risk to have someone use your pc for malicious intent. child porn people dont save the stuff on their own machines - the store it on other peoples. copyrighted material like music, videos, movies, etc appear to be "free" however the time is coming soon when people are going to be fined - its considered theft and the courts are awarding the artist and labels money. you may think that you only have a couple hundred songs - why would they bother with me? not sure - but they are doing it... as i recall, its like a $50,000 fine per track for theft of copyrighted material!

not trying to be a buzz kill or preach - this is closely related to what i do (information security consulting). loading these apps on your pcs (or even worse, at work) opens your pc/workstation up to a host of potential problems. many companies will fire an employee on the spot for downloading file sharing apps. it creates a liability and can cause problems for the IT guys who have to maintain the network...

WinMX, Imesh, KazaaLite, they all work great for me. every couple months i delete all the songs i dont' listen to anymore and then i defragment my computer and it runs a lot faster then.
