well, my quad took a beating this 4th of July weekend. I was pretty upset when I started to hear my skid plate rubbing.
I basically stopped riding b/c Its hard to bend stainless steel back in to place. When I finally decided to hit it with the sledge to see what would happen, one tap moved it right off my rotor and away from my chain.
I thought uh oh, thats not good. So I flipped my quad up onto the grab bar. Sure enough my skid plate was fine. The mounts were killed though!
One had completely broken off, the other was cracked and bent pretty badly.
I brought it to my neighbor who's a welder and we spent an hour fixing it. What a pain in the ***.
Well, that skid plate impresses me every time I ride. While I was getting my swing arm welded up I decided to have all the welds on it reinforced, Im sure its gonna last as long as the quad does.
If you can afford it, invest your money in a protec.
