About an hour ago i heard on the radio that a 17 year old kid was riding his quad last night(Tuesday) and never came home. They found his body in the creek this morning a short distance from his flipped quad. This happened in Westmoreland County, PA. I don't know the details or his name, but I think we should keep his family in our prayers.

Yea, I heard about this too on the radio. NONE of the reports are saying his death was caused by the ATV though, but they seem to mention it was there. I'll be following this story a bit.... my neck of the woods. :(

Does anyone know exactly what happened yet? Was the ATV the cause of death or what? Yeah those storms were really bad I'd hate to get caught in those....I wonder if they had anything to do with the accident?

Before I heard what part of PA it happened in, I also thought of Tommy!!!....lol!!!

Just found out that he was ridin without a helmet and flipped from a gravel road into the creek. The news said that he may have been goin "too fast for conditions".

BTW....for all the western PA riders, in about an hour at 6 pm, NBC(WPXI) is airing a segment on why ATV's are dangerous....this should be inaccurate and one-sided.....

I hate to hear about people getting killed on quads. It hits realy close to home when I hear about it because I've lost 2 good friends to ATV accidents.

"FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. -- Around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, search crews found the body and all-terrain vehicle of a missing Fayette County boy.

Adrian Adams, 17, of Vanderbilt, was riding his ATV Tuesday evening, right before strong storms hit the area, and hasn't been heard from since.

Search teams began to look for him Tuesday night, but severe weather forced them to stop.

Search teams used ATVs and search dogs to comb a 6-mile area for Adams.

Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, police identified the body found to be that of Adams.

Pennsylvania has the second highest number of ATV accidents in the last several years.

In 2000, there were 21 fatal accidents. That number climbed to 30 in 2001 before falling off to 17 last year"

Complements of WPXI.com

He was trying to get home before the storm hit , he veered off the trail rolled down an embankment into a creek where they are saying he drowned...Rider did not have a helmet on, and was riding a Predator500...

:( man that stuff sucks so much:(

i would not like to ride in Pennsylvania, seems like that place is bad luck with quads considering all those fatalities....i've only gotten close to being seriously hurt a couple times, and i rarely ever ride without someone else. that guy should've never hurried home in the conditions he was in....:(

This is allways sad to hear.

I wonder when all the news people and politicians will realize that this sport is no more dangerous than any others and the injuries and fatalities are a mere percentage of hiway auto statistics.

You know its coming soon, first it was mandatory seatbelt use and next is helmet laws in cars. Maybe even in your bath tub one day too just incase you slip. Just picture that one :D

I feel for the riders and their families and though I realize its newsworty I just wish the press would stop overplaying this stuff both in respect to the families and to stop hurting our sport.
