actually my cylinder doesn't need bored its fine...not a single scratch....i think i'm just gonna get a high compression piston heavy duty valves maybe oversized. would i notice a difference faster or anything? my heads a little messed up wouldn't a port and polish fix that? or could i take it to my dealer to get it fixed?

That sucks man.

What would cause a valve to break off like that?

incorrect timing....worn piston wrist pin,....valve keeper failure....valve failure....a lot of stuff...

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks back and mine looks a lot worse off than yours and it was saved. It's a little work
make sure valve seats or in good shape. If you want the name of the guy who is doing mine pm me. If some one could down size some pictures i well show them.

UUUHHHHHHH............NO:confused2

usually when you port and polish a head that deals with the ports, not the actual combustion chamber

you probably goin to have to replace the head when somthing like that happens it tends to warp or crack the head and you'll be blowing head gaskets left and right then again if it's not cracked you could have it decked but also your valve seat looks pretty trashed

and this one too. I was lucky, mine was a 440, messed up the cylinder, they just got a new one for a 444, so I had to rebore. You can get the head welded up just fine. You don't need to buy a new head. Mine was done in 2 weeks. My valve was titanium it broke right off, not sure of cause. I am replacing with ferea ss heavy duty valves. Ti is not stronger, just lighter. If you need a shop to weld th head let me know. Its not too spendy, plus you can get a custom welded chamber with a flat top 13 to 1....

:eek2:....thats a little worse then mine...:confused2

get the head welded? couldn't they just mill it our or something? and get oversized valves? thats what i was thinking cuz i'm decking it out to a full blown 330 oversized valves web cam blah blah....:macho

I know you were talking to Maggott, but I was just giving it a test ride after putting in a new clutch. I was on the dirt raod by my house. I took it through all thgears in 75% power, checked oil ect, then opened her up, got through all gears, put the wheels down in 5th, then heard pop buzzzzzzz. I knew exactly what happened. Not sure what caused it. I think a bent valve, but I am not sure what bent the valve.
PVT. The reason it needs to be welded is because the chamber is all beat up. My guy will weld it full of aluminum, then re machine out he chamber. Look close at my head an you can see the material in between the valves. My head was built up like this before, that is mostly the material damages, the welded up portion. we grind it off and start new. Not aq huge deal. If you milled it out, I would have a bigger chamber, which would not be efficient and a lower comp. ratio. I already have oversized valves, and now I am going to run a valve not made for a 400ex.
