On the Banshee, 5th gear. On the 400, up to 4th, and on the R up to 6th.

5th...either standing on the pegs cresting a hill or a bump, or on flat standing on the seat. I can only pick it up like 2ft on flat standing on the pegs.

Timing....Meaning the RPM level that you are at, along with when you hit the gas and pull up. Some quads there is actually a significant delay from when you hit the gas until you should pull it up.

Well my 400 isnt here right now so I cant really try it out, so- Granted every 400ex is a little diffrent, but my quad is just about the same as yours, about what R's do you bring it up? is there a delay for you, ect.? thanks for the help-darren

darren- i think i can answer your question... ok if you get rolling slowly (around half throttle) in 3rd let of the gas pull in your clutch rev it up good then pop it.... you may have to practice a little more on a 4 stroke though. thats what i do and i can pop my blaster out in 3rd no problem. ive noticed its pretty much the same with 400ex's

on my banshee: 1st gear way too easy and scary, lol 2nd gear best gear, 3rd gear okay, 4th gear hard.....5th going way too damn fast.....6th...what the hell am i thinking?

on my lt185: just 1st-4th gear all the way

Neutral with the parking brake engaged:rolleyes: .

I can ride from a complete stop 1-3 but when I go to shift into 4th the front usually drops cause I hafta work on the wheelie skills a lil bit cause Il wait till the front starts to drop then Il shift, I hafta learn to shift when its stil goin up a bit.

any gear will bring it up at the right rpm except 5th. i mostly ride willys on pavement pop it up in 4th and hit 5th and keep thumbin the throttle untill u run out of straigt away. got some videos but not good quality and dont know how to put on computer. my favorite willy is with my feet over the bars just cant figure out how to shift yet.

My friend is about 28yrs old and hes friggin nuts on his Shee..... he does wheelies in 6th gear no problem.

Now he got rid of the shee cause he tried one in 6th gear again and the quad came back on him and the grab bar just gave way and he when slidin down the pavement at about 65 mph. and he hadda go to the hospital and when he came back he looked like he got hit by a friggin bus. Blood cloths all around his rib section stitches near his eye his whole back was all red for the next 2 weeks.... but he got rid of the Banshee and got a Ninja:blah:

Up to 4th no problem...I can pop one in 5th, but can't ride it out. That was with a stock swingarm though...I don't know now.

I have a atc 200x and can bring it up in 6th gear under power, and I ride with a guy with a 03 400ex that I can also just bounce and crack it and it comes up in 6th. I will be getting a kfx400 soon and cant wait.

I do all my wheelies by accident!

I can bring it up in 1st just by wicking it on flat ground. In 2nd on flat ground, I can do it with a little tug. In 3rd on flat ground I can do it with just a little bit more of a tug, and in 4th I need a tug and a bump. In 5th, forget about it. I can get it no more than one foot off the ground with a little hump and a big tug. It just doesn't have the motor to do that.

I can ride through all the gears though.:D

i can pull up on 1-3. i dont know how to shift through the gears tho i pull in the clutch when i am at the balance point and shift and it just goes straight down. i will keep trying tho and i dont not want to use the clutch b/c ireplaced my trans once and dont want to again

if i tug the crap out of it and wick the throttle in 1st i can ALMOST do a wheelie, but by the time it nearly reaches the balance point it's almost hitting the rev limiter. in second if i put my knees on the seat i can get it up, although i have to practice that one because the front end goes to high up and i let off the gas :grr:

i know 250ex wheelies are supposed to be super easy.....but for some reason i cant do them....any advice? i dont wanna half shift it, i wanna be able to do them just by gassing it. i'm gonna try a bigger main jet, in case jetting is part of the problem. my friend did try my 250 and the first time out he was able to wheelie it with ease.

when do you pull the bars? before you hit the gas, during the wick of the throttle, or after?

help

start on hills and bumps stand on the foot pegs lean back tug and give it gas(kinda at the sametime) when u get it up try sitting down it is easier to balance and keep giving it little bits of gas thats how i learned now i can wheelie on flat standing on the pegs and on hills i can sit and wheelie up them. JUST KEEP TRYING!!

4th sitting down and 5th with a little bump or the right timming.
I found its harder to pull up with the elkas because of the sag in the front end.

the way i do em on the 250 is put it in first gear, then i stand up, next i slam my ***** as far back on the seat as i can while i "wick" the throttle. its all in timing

well the first day i got my 300ex i was playing around, and in 3rd i put my feet on the grab bar, and gased it....it came up so fast i paniticed and hit the gas again, and fell off. It kept on riding by itself sitting straight up. i got up and chased after it. after i caught it, and pulled in the clutch, and got it on all 4's. i looked at my grab bar, and it was all stratched up, i sure am glad it was only a stocker. lol

lol, I thought there was something wrong w/ me quad for a while cuz it was so hard for me to bring it up. But once I hopped on my dads quad and had the softer shocks w/o the sag and the stock length swingarm it was soooo easy to bring up the front end and do tricks.

They dont make that much of a difference, but rev it real high in first gear then power shift into second, it should go right up........ thats how it goes on my friends 400ex anyway and his is still stock:huh

Thats the same way with me, gettin to 4th gear is no problem but you have to have the bike amost stood up to get to 5th and continue wheelieing.

first off you shouldn't ride wheelies in the higher gears unless you can ride through the gears with no problems. it hurts less in the lower gears (lower speeds). second lean way back, keep the moter in the lower rpms, so you can get the low end power needed to get it up, and the jerk like hell when you gun the hell out of the throttle. third control is important. remember you can hit the back brake if you happen to go too far past the balance point. tire pressure will also determine where the bike goes. lol. last thing i will say. practice practice good luck. i hope this helps.
