hmf owners

i was just wondering how you all liked your hmf pipes? also, mention the mainjet you are using because the jetting recomendations by them seem way too big. they say a 175 for a silencer on a 400ex and a 200 for a complete system on the 400ex. seems way too large to me.

Well they do sound good and I hear they have good gains, but they were having problems with their quiet cores. Afriend of mine with a Grizzly 660 with an HMF and he had 2 quiet cores break already. They just redesigned the cores to a new upgraded model and offered to get him one for an extra $25. I think they should eat the cost for the trouble he has had with the cores up till now.
He is getting one machined from aluminum instead by a friend for free so it should last this time. Other than that he really likes his HMF. BTW, if sound was not a factor, the sound without the core is intimidating to say the least. :D

You gains would be good if it is a full system. The stock 300 pipe is drastically undersize and restrictive. Are they sold as a full system?

k&n
no lid.
It puts my fmf powercore 4 to shame and sounds better.

It deffinitly helped, while it lasted. I have yet to hear it with the new core that he is having made locally, but I'll post here when I do.:cool:
