i feel fairly stupid for asking this cause im pretty sure i know the answer for it but...which would be the better motor for a shifter cart? im thinking of an 80 cc dirt bike motor (MAYBE a 125 cc motor) or a blaster motor. i plan to build the frame my self. as of now i dont plan on any racing other than owning my brother in his integra. :p but i want something that will rip! any help would be appricated

most of the ones i seen use 125 motors. they are liquid cooled (unlike blaster) lighter and faster

yea thats kinda what i was thinking cause it would be sitting behind me so the blaster motor wouldnt get that much air. what motor is ran the most? the main reason im building this is so i can have something fas as hell and loud as all to chase my bro in his integra around up on the park way in the mts ive got about a 1500 buck knot sitting beside me and i need something to do with it lol ive got the frame done on paper i plan to throw it in CAD within the next few days this thing is gonna be SIC i just need a motor now...:ermm: any more opinions on this?

dont use a blaster motor, they dont last

the 125cc shifter carts if done right will carry you 100 mph:eek2:

Put a cr125. It will be plenty fast. You could always put a Kawi h2 in it. Its a streetbike kawi made back in the early 70's. It would be overkill though. Its a 2 stroke 750cc triple:devil: Imagine how fast it would go if the frame could withstand it:devil:
Even a cr80 will go fast but a 125 will be good for a cart IMO :macho

my opinion use a yamaha yzf 450 2 stoke dirt bike motor the blaster motor you will only be able to do like 55-60 not to be wrong blaster r nice machines lol i own one lol and the 125's would be fast but 450's would be even ffaster man

wow...thats would be nasty as hell! id love to do that but i dont think the frame would hold up to that. i bet that thing puts out tons of torque!

TheRedRebel17:
i never knew thay made motors for that spacific purpose thats pretty cool! im gonna have to check that out

blasterrider123:
"yamaha yzf 450 2 stoke dirt bike motor" do u mean 4 stroke? i would use that but i want a 2 smoke:devil:

my dad had one of those! and he said that thing FLEW. but he lended it to a friend who crashed it, then that friend lended it to another friend (without my dad knowing) and that guy totalled it. so that kinda sucks that i never got to see it:(

but i say put a 535ST PV banshee engine in your cart    sure you'll be doing like Mach 13... but that's fine, at least you'll own your brother!:ermm:

With the right rear sproket a 125 shift will do more like 120-130

A blaster motor wouldnt be good but it would still haul ***......

A 'shee motor  would be a little wide for a normal frame but since your building it yourself.....it would be fun to sat the least......

Good luck

width is the last thing im woried about, this thing is going to be about 5 ft wide if not more. it will be about like a square. im gonna do the whole thing out of square cromoly tubing and fiber glass for what little body work that will be on it. once again does any anyone know of a site i can order stuff from?

My dads friend just bought 2 of them and sold on too a guy in Germany. They seem like they are real screamers to say the least.

Kicken-Do a search for cart or something. Someone posted a link on here for parts and info:macho
