does anyone if you can take the springs off of stock 300ex front shocks?

well i put some shockwears on them and it rubbed all the paint off of the springs. so my neighbors dad can powdercoat in a few colors (red, black, etc) and i was thinking if i could take them off easily i could have him powdercoat them for me.

Yeah you can take them off. I know banshee shocks are a pain in the.... to take off. I dont know how bad 300ex shocks are though:ermm:

are you gonna put the shock wares back on? if so, then why worry about the paint since you cant see it and all.

no i plan on leaving the shockwears off or else i wouldn't go to the trouble of trying to have them powdercoated.
