well its been a while and with summer i have not been on the comp much, but now that i blew my motor i have a little extra time. last wednesday i went riding afterwork and was just gettin ready to go and took another run at our new freestyle kicker and jumped it landed, went around a birm and was accelerating hard in 3rd when the motor came apart, the top of the sleeve broke off thus sending the sleeve down into the crank, where it jocked the piston into the sleeve wall. so i gotta clean the bottom end up and after measuring i found out the crank is bent so i guess i will be down for a while. what im trying to say is that if you go bigbore go with a 440 because the wall thickness on the sleeve is very simular to stock and this will not happen. hjas anyone else had this happen to there 416? also i just changed the oil the day before and it was full when i checked, so im still trying to think of the cause.

i didnt either until it blew, i had maybe 4 races on it i think and alot of riding hours, who know maybe ill have a new 440 sleeve to go in it.

mine did the same thing as yours. it didnt bend the crank though. when pieces of my sleeve came off it lodged in the tranny gears and stopped it instanly, maybe stopping further damage. sucks bad dont it?

Just curious...
What compression are/were you guys running? I would think that could be a major factor to reliability.

i have ran 11:1 in that motor and the 500 ex with no problems, but i think that a bad bore job will do it. that is just what i was told could ahve caused it by a machinest

did you check your oil the way the manual says?:ermm:

scott, yes i know how to check oil. i was running a 10.8:1 wiseco piston, my next question is do i need the fcr with the 440, i know ppl run them with the stock carbs, but my sponsor and numerous racers i have talked to said i should go FCR. if you do not have a 440 than do not reply to this because i see it as a meaningful waste of time to relearn the knowledge i already know.
