What would be wrong if my battery won't charge while its running?

ur alternator could be shot or your wire could be loose (happens to me all the time :( )....also, if you have been charging it alot recently the battery is probably dieing & its time for a new one.

Try a new battery if your is getting old now, never hurts. I thought I had a good battery and when replaced mine it held charge way longer and I wasn't scared I didn't have enough juice to start in winter.

Its definitlly not the battery. What ever the part that charges the battery while its running is not charging it. I am wondering what charges it? The stator? or does the voltage regulator have anything to do with it?
