ok, got some more ex questions for you.
first off, when ever i turn my handlebars, the steering stem makes a obnoctious (sp) squeek. It comes from the top...just a bearing?? (nevermind that the stem is a little bent)

number 2:
this is the one that just confuses me. ok, i noticed that my clutch lever had a little play eairler today, so i moved that little bolt thing, to adjust the freeplay. Then a half hour later, it was loose again, so i turned it out a little more, then the same thing another half hour. Now it is to the puint that the screw can not go out any farther, and the lever is still very loose. the lever is half way to the bars.
So i pulled the perch apart, and it is worn a little, but not much, so i am going to replace that anyway, but my questoin is did the clutch cable stretch also? that fast? i know i did not overtighten it, cause it was never tight to begin with. also you know that lever where the clutch cable goes into, on top of the case, could a spring not be bringing it all the way back???
i am a little lost, so any help is good.

lastly what do you think is the sweetest graphics kit for a 400ex, not to expensive also.

oh yeah, what is a good clutch perch to buy???

Q1....http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=62578

Q2....i wouldn't think the cable would stretch that quick, but stranger things have happened. How old is your machine? You would be surprised at how smooth a new cable pulls! They only run like 12 bucks anyhow. There are SEVERAL different options on the clutch lever and perch. Personally, i went with the MSR Dominator for a CR125 http://www.rockymountainatv.com/home.asp?sid=0003000882
and used the MSR Gripper lever for the CR125 as well http://www.rockymountainatv.com/home.asp?sid=0003000882
the only problem with payinf 22 bucks for the lever set is that you can't use the brake lever (i put that on my wife's CR85:p ).
But like i said, there are oodles of options for perches and levers. Check your local dealer...might find a cheap one there! Any CR125/250 perch and lever will work.

Q3....i'm not all that worried about looks...more about ability:macho

also, it is getting annoying trying to shift. One time it will be smooth, then the next, i have to pull with all my might to get it to shift from like 1-3, and same with down shifting?
also is this normal, cause my friends 2003 z-400 is starting to do it too.:(

the squeek up at your handlebars is the steering stem bushing. it just needs to be cleaned and greased. then torque the 2 bolts down to the proper torque. i had the problem with mine but now its squeek free. :D
