I have a stock 02' 400ex. After I ride for a while and it warms up the top end ticks at idle. It is not very loud and I don't know if this is normal because I have never listened to any other 400's. I bought the bike used and I don' t think the valves have ever been adjusted. No loss of power or anything but it does seem to get kinda hot after a long time riding. 85 degrees doesn't help.
