Well I want to get a quad, a 250 or a 300 and I have a place to ride it and all it's just that I dont know how to convince my dad to either buy it for me, or how I can save up all of that money without getting bored and buying little things that in the end drain your wallet. (Paintballs, Rc Car Parts, et cetera). Forgot to mention I was 13. So what should I do?

Life is about making sacrifices. Yea it might take a good year or two to get the quad, but will you get more years of enjoyment out of the quad or the rc car?

I know your only 13 but if you try and make money you can. Just think, if you buy a $3500 quad and you mow lawns at $20/lawn. You only have to mow 175 lawns:eek:

If your Dad won't buy you a quad, you're pretty much screwed for now. You'll have to wait till you're like 15 or 16 and get a job. Start saving now, get a good down payment ready by the time you get a job. When you get a job, finance the quad. If ya been good, maybe your Dad will help ya out when that time comes. I just bought a brand new 300ex like 2 days ago. 4700 OTD, parents gave me a little for good grades and are letting me pay them off, 150 every two weeks for a year. Oh, and I had some cash saved up that I gave them too.

Your only 13 - you should just try for a used blaster, you can find them for like $1500 sometimes. $3500 vs $1500 is a crazy difference, especially to your parents probably.

250x you can get those pretty cheap for like 1500. Or try to get a blaster.:o

Well this is how it works.. We have almost completed building a house in the Poconos. It is lake front so my parents wanted to get a boat. Well, I could also have the option of getting a Jet Ski considering we live in front of the lake. And it's a huge lake too.

But my friend is getting a quad, he is working all summer so that he can make a little bit of money and then I think his dad is going to pay the rest. They have a whole bunch of trails in their back woods, he invited me to go back there with him if I got a quad.

So, my dad will probably make me choose between what I want considering Jet Ski's and Quads are in the same price range...

i worked a summer strait when i was 13 to buy my 91 warrior... and it was a peiace, i worked every day of the summer... it was horrible but at the end of it i had enough to buy my quad, i did little odd end jobs to get cash... work around the house, worked with the pops, went to local places and asked if i can do any little crap job to make a few bucks...

im sure theres somthing you can do to get money...
start collecting cans :p

Ahh jet skis are awesome too! Unless you can get atleast a 750cc, don't get a jet ski. Also, aren't very many aftermarket parts for a jetski. Quads are just as fun, much more available for upgrades, and you won't drown on a quad... well, unless you drive it into a lake.

Yea but you wear life jackets lol, unless your doing crazy stuff on a Jet ski you wont drown, at least I hope not:devil:

Yea I think I want a quad more, just a few more months and maybe I will have it!:blah:

I wanted a real race quad for the longest time and I had to wait a good 7 years before I got the money and stuff... I didnt know there were local races and stuff... then I found out I didnt need a $25,000 quad and be as good as the national racers (I was so dense back in the day) but dont get discouraged... I didnt spend a dime for about a year....... and I got my 250x for $2000 and it was in perfect condition.... Id look into a 250x tho... cheaper than a 300ex but more reliable than a blaster IMO (b/c its a 4 stroke and easier to maintain)

250x's are nice and good price too, quicker than blaster and pretty much the same as a 300ex

If you have enough desire to afford a quad then you can!! I mowed lawns since i was about 9 or 10. The first time i bought my own 4-wheeler was when i was 11...before that my dad bought em'. I am now 14 and pay for all my quad stuff. I mow more lawns than anyone could imagine and do alot of lawn work! I make around 400-500 a week most of the time(only work about 5 1/2 months tho). About an average of $15 an hour...6 hrs a day,,,give or take sometimes.I make more than some adults and college kids. I am a freshman and make more money than anoyone in my high school!

When i was about 12 i told myself when i was 16 i would do anything to make enough to build an all out race quad! Here i am at age 14 with an all out race quad but still a good all around type quad:)

Believe yourself...if you want a quad..you can get one;)

You seem like you have a lot of extra cash, how about you share the wealth with me. My b-day is coming up. Lol j.p..

I do lawns and I usually get $25 a week, no big deal but it's a start isnt it?
