I just noticed today on my quad, at the bottom of the right front shock where it's attached to the a arm, the bottom of the shock and the a arm is covered with oil. I ain't real "mechanically inclined", so could anyone tell me whats wrong? Here is a pic.

Probably a blown shock- all the shock fluid leaked out.

I didn't think it seemed any different than the other side. I'll have to go check it out again. Here is a picture of the bottom of the shock.

if u keep riding on it, it will probly eventually break off where the round piece meets the shock body. thats what happend to both my front stock shocks. i wouldnt recommend going back to stock shocks. either get works or it would be a good time to switch to a 400 front end.

I was looking around for some Works and I found this. Thats a pretty good deal, not? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43972&item=2421717891 I also found this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34284&item=2421167825 For them Long Travel Works, would the stock a arms work? I'm trying to save up for a vehicle, so I don't have a whole lot of money to spend on this kind of stuff. So, I'd like to try and find something good, but not too spendy!

Are all Works shocks long travel? Is there any aftermarket shocks that I can get for stock a arms?

every shock company will make both long travel (19 inch) and regular travel (16inch) works is probably going to be the cheapest you will find, if you can find a good shape used pair from someone on here or on bay your all set, just make sure there close to your weight or youll hate them

pretty sure I have heard of people on here putting 400ex a-arms and shocks on their 300's as sort of an upgrade. Probably pretty cheap to. You can get a good set of 400 shocks on eBay for like $50.

What all is required to upgrade to 400EX a arms? How much would they cost?

if i remember right the arms will bolt right up but for the 400ex shocks you will have to change the top shock mount on the 300 for it to work, someone on here sells the pieces to do the conversion i just cant remember who right now.

u could do the conversion probably for about 400 bucks with used works;) the ride will be incredible

COUNTYPARK sells the shock mount for $85. They are some on ebay every once in awhile that go for about $50.
