I read somewhere that changing to liquid cooling from air cooling increases hp??? If so is that possible to modify a 400ex so that it has liquid cooling and would it even be worth it money wise? Just curious i'm trying to learn more about this stuff.

It won't increase the engines power but there will be less heat related power loss. I think Four Stroke tech makes a kit but expect to pay a hefty price.

And I believe he said he'll never do it again due to the time required.

why didn't honda just put one on the bike before it left the manufacture??? I would figure they would do it on all the high performance machines.

i think bc they had a perfectly good air cooled xr400 motor there that they could very easily de tune down and run in a quad frame... they didn't have to spend much on new dies and stuff or how ever they make them... there really wasn't a liq cooled 4stroke quad at the time when the 400ex came out...

yeah, but liquid cooling isnt something i would want on the ex,, on a liquid cooled quad you have to worry about sticks going throught the radiator, overheating the coolant, waiting for the cooling system to warm up after the engine, making sure the coolant level is right everytime you ride, more complex and alot more things to go wrong...

plus, mst would forget to refill it, and would burn up da engine
