I ve got 22x11x8 's on the back and 21x7x10' s on the front. I know that changing the rear tire size will change up the gearing (indirectly b/c the bigger the back tire the harder it is too turn) My question is if I go with 23x7x10's on the front how will it effect performance, or will it be a non factor. Thanks ahead of time.

It shouldnt change a thing performance wise, but your handeling (sp?) may change..

I noticed many of the new quads out there have taller front tires than rear tires. Any idea why this is?

having the same size or smaller in the front than the rear realy messes up your handling.

Your handling will be better with 23 inch tires than what you have now. It will also give you more ground clearance in the front.

I just wanted to say thanks for the input. Actually that really makes sense. I bought the quad with the bigger back tires and I always wondered about the handeling. I think I am going to go with 23x7x10 fronts. Probably either razr's or holeshots. Can anyone recommend either one of these tires, I do mostly trail riding. Also is it better just to buy the package deals with the tires and wheels. Lastly, what are the advantages and disadvantages of steel versus aluminium. Thanks

Most the pro's are going with 18 inch rears and 19 inch fronts for a reason. Lower to the ground, better handleing and responce. Talk to all the guys on the board that run smaller tires.

Don't get 18's you'll have a 1/2 inch of cleance. Holeshots are more for the track and hard pack, razr's are better for loose dirt. I have had both and the razrs seem to hold up longer. Don't get steal rims they suck, they bend and are heavier. If you do get rims, get douglas not itp.
