hey, i recently got my works shocks back from the quad shop (props to them for quick return and seems to be a good job on the shocks), but now the shocks are too long, and wont fit in the proper positios. If i compress them a little bit, they go in, but i know that shouldnt happen, in fact, i read in ATV sport that once the bottom blot is removed that the arms are supposed to hang down another 1/2 inch, so can someone please tell me whats wrong. i put a call into TQS, but they are on break till the 8th and i wanna RIDE!!! BTW, they fit fine before i took them out (if i remeber right) and no adjustments were made to the ball joints etc while the shocks were out.

My elkas were a tight fit, and I know other people have had really tight fits. I wouldn't worry about it, my shocks have been awesome!

what did you have done to your shocks? were they rebuilt? have you tried softening the pre load? marty dosent adjust back to how they are sent after they are taken apart. how much longer are they?

they are about 1/4-1/2 an inch too long. they were just revalve for a lighter rider because i just bought the bike, and i only wiergh 140 and he wieghed 180, so i needed revalving, and it makes me feel better knowing that that is done. its not a tight fit, cuz they are a little tight between the mounts, but they are too long, and i dont think that is right, correct me if i am wrong tho.

If it's only 1/4", I'd just stick them in and ride. You're not going to hurt anything... see how they feel.

just jack ur front end up and u should be able to find a place where its high enough they fit this might change right hight just a bit or it might sag when u sit on them but 1/2 inch isnt anything.. just put em on and ride..

ive never heard of that before

i had christian paul motorsports do my works shocks and he used a different oil and the shocks are so much different now, over the bumps there plusher and off the big jumps they work great, i dunno what the hell he did but it was more than worth the money:eek:
