I got an ac belly skid plate for christmas and I just put it on my quad. When I run the engine the skid plate vibrates so loud that it gives me a head ache. I tried putting rubber washers on the bolts and that didnt help. Anyone know how I can fix it?

Does anyone know? What about some electrical tape on the bottom of the frame?

do you just check it over to make sure its on Nice and snug...tight so that there is no room to vibrate...there might be a slight bend in it causing some point to be rasied away from the frame enuf to vibrate and make noise. Just $0.02

when i first bought my 400ex it had one and it had a row of duct tape around where it hit the frame ...well it got all sticky and messy so i tore it off whe it did that it started to viberate... i think if you gte some foam stuff like that seals truck caps to the bed and put on the bottom of your fram it would stop viberating....toby

I haven`t had any Problems with my Skid Plate yet. Just make sure it`s really tight. I think that Truck Cap stuff 51 was talking about would be a good idea.

Thanks guys, everything is tight. I might try some of that Truck Cap stuff.

I used to have a dg full skid and it also vibrated very bad. I got a prm and it fit much nicer and doesn't make any noise!

hey i have also heard people say they use that stuff you use to insulate pipe, just wrap that around the frame and tighten the bolts down? just a thought

You can put silicone on the skidplate where it touches the frame. You can also get some of the soft weather stripping and put it on the frame. Both of these work well.

A bead of clear silicone on the skid plate would do he trick, put it one the skid its self and let it dry, then put it on ur R.

I agree with nj300 and max400, silicone is the cheapest, easiest fix.

Silicone works well but it ALWAYS comes off (even the expensive stuff). I used hockey tape along the bottom of the frame and, although I didn't have vibration before, it helps to protect from wear. It's cheap and you have color choices. I wrapped up all the high wear areas like the grab bar and frame just above the footpegs. Stuff works great!

I used the truck topper pad like mentioned before on mine and it's still workin pretty good..
