Does anyone own any crate motors that are in your car or truck?
I am buying a rebuilt chevy 350 in a week (for my 1980 chevy K10 4x4), with a lot of goodies in it!:D It will be as good as a new chevy 350 HO Deluxe (if you know what i am talking about)!
I have a friend who has a chevy ramjet 350 in his 94 shortbox, and it has some balls:devil:
Ford, Chevy, Mopar, I don't care i like them all so talk about anything. . .;)

A friend of mine bought a crate motor (350 small block)from Autozone...bad move. After he installed it, the block itself had several cracks where the coolant was leaking. We'll the guys at Autozone WILL NOT take the motor back. Just my two cents about them....

I've heard good things about the crate motor packages from Summit Racing though... I almost bought one for my '78 Monte Carlo when I had it.

Tommy, let me know if you do that. I've got motor mount conversion plates sitting right here next to me from when I had my 355 in an S-10. I can copy the plates onto some paper so you have a template and then all you have to do is go to a fab shop and have them cut it for you. Mine are cut from 3/8" steel. They get welded to the front cross member then you lower the engine/tranny into the engine bay with your motor mounts bolted to the engine and get everything lined up (driveshaft, etc.). Once everything is in position you tack weld the lower half of the motor mount to the plate and then remove the engine and finish the weld. At the time I did it Hooker was the only company offering headers for this application and you had to cut the inner wheel wells because one of the tubes went outside the frame rail. It was a horrible system and the heads leaked slightly from that joint. Check out a header company by the name of Sanderson. They make killer headers for the S-10 conversion.

I have a friend who just put a GM Performance ZZ502/502 in a '70 Chevelle. Rated at 502hp as delivered with Holley 850 and cast manifolds. That would make your K-10 haul the mail, wouldn't you say?
