400ex chain keep tightining up???

my b-law has a 99 400ex and the other day we where riding in the snow and we got back to my house and for some reason the chain was really tight so he readjusted it and he rode it down the road and back up and it was really tight. Anyone have any ideas on what causes this? He needs all the help he can get with it.:confused:

His bolts on his axle might be loose. Or his axle nut might be loose. I would give these a look first.

Look at the other chain tightening thread in here,,,it has the proper way to adjust your chain..

I didn't see it Rico? Has anyone else ever experianced this problem. He just put axle bearings in it about 3 weeks ago. I will tell him to check the nut and stuff on the rear end. Thanlks guys

see my 300 is the complete oppostie i will tighten it and i will jump a couple of times and then my chain will be loose again

Go out to gt thunders webpage and there's a tech section with tips on proper chain adjustment...sounds like that's the problem..
