lookin awesome ben. the only thing that i dont care for too much is the color blue on the case. but whatever floats yur boat. nice quad!!! you rode it yet, id be afraid of getting it dirty with that nice plastic

Replace the blue sidecases with a silvervien PC job and it will be smokin. Other than that I like the sleek look of it. Nice job..:cool:

That turned out very nice. I agree those side cases need to be a different color. I think polishing them would look really sweet. Rather then that everything looks good, although I'm not real crazy about that bumper. When will the Arens Frame, and LT A-Arms be put on?

It is an FDO 463. I believe those side cases were PC'd that color in the beginning because the chromed Fullbore was supposed to have that color in it. As you saw the chroming process left much to be desired and now Ben's got that blue on the cases with nothing to match. I say go with chromed cases or mirror black PC!

Looks ok sitting there ,but if you plan to ride it... I think you still need to work on getting some brakeline clamps..

Looks really good BEN. I think a big thanks needs to go out to the companies that provided product for this project. and to Ben for putting it together. I have got to get me some of that plastic.. I agree with others the cases need to be chromed.

Looks ok, nice parts for sure. But I don't think it's the best looking EX out there. I've seen better looking on the forums here. It looks a little bland to me. I would have left the lights on, The EX's trade mark.Then it would have looked more GNCCish. Looks like it's going to be for MX. Then again whats such a big deal about this quad? Anyone could build one with free parts like this and a catalog. A CRF450 engine would have made this a more worthy project(IMHO).:rolleyes:

We are not dissing on the 400. When u post something on this site u know opnions are gonna be heard. This isnt Bens 400. This is basically Everyones 400 on exriders and we are just giving some opnions on what would look the best. If it wasnt for us coming to this site Ben wouldnt of been able to get what he did. no flame intended:scary:

i didnt say its 100% the sites. But i figure 50/50 of its his and the other the sites. Ben bought the 400ex yes. He also sold the parts he wasnt using which he really only used the motor and what not. You think if Ben didnt have this site Aerens would of hooked him up with a frame,TC woulda gave him that motor kit, RPM woulda gave him their axles and rotars,spindles, and there is a list to go on that was benifital to this project EX. Im not trying to flmae or nothing.

Just to clarify - Arens only gave us a steering stem and FDO built the motor (and I paid more than $1,000 for the engine work), not TC. I bought the base quad, and the Lonestar chassis, and many other parts for this project. I totalled it up last night and my out of pocket expenses on this quad are right at $8,000. That is without any parts donations and without taking into consideration my labor. ;)

The point of this thread was to show off where I am at this point - not start a conflict! :p

The quad looks great, although not conflicting on it I do agree with the majority that those blue side cases clash with the rest of the bike.

This is a good idea. Once you get the bike the way you want it for the mag I would see about getting the dyno reading on it.

Guys, lay off about the blue. That horse is already dead and buried! Maybe he's going to incorporate some blue into the graphics or maybe nerfs with blue straps? He has stated that it's not done yet and graphics and such are usually the last things to go on. It looks great so far.

he went with a local pc'r for times sake and chose blue to match the custom painted fullbore. since that didnt work out he is stuck with it for the time being. when he asked me to originally do his cases i recommended he try and send them to CBW for a polish job but again time was a factor.

when doing a rebuild and you have certian things planned it can get FUBAR in a hurry when something as important as the plastic color changes. sucks but what the hell can he do:ermm:

i think overall he has done a good job for his first complete rebuild. besides...10 minutes at hatfield and noone will know what color anything is on his quad:devil:

thats a nice quad i think everyoen that contributed needs a thanks, giving ben and exriders all that stuff for free to promote the products, hmm i wish i had a website where i could get a free 400ex, you should ahve a give away for it or something ben or even sell it and donate the money to the atva or something.

or since you spent 8 grnd on it i would keep it unless your feeling relly generis.
