Here are a few pics of my friend at todays Flat River GP. I only have these because I DNF'd with a flat tire. Note his nice riding boots, he forgot his real ones at home.

Hope that you enjoyed the race and the river crossing at the start and the parade lap to town for the start. Just to let you know, I did move 2 rocks when I was arrowing the week before. You must have found one that I didn't see.

It was not actualy a rock that got me. It was skid plate off a Z400. The guy I was behind lost it on the trail. I could not go around but did get stoped befor hitting him. next thing I know the 2 guys behind me hit me pushing me into him. I did not realize that I had a flat. I just pushed off him and took off again. It was about 30 seconds latter when my EX was not ridding right. I just kept going because everything looked ok. I finaly found the tire when I missed a turn because nothing happened when i turned the bars. I was going to try and finnish the first lap, but i was just too slow and holding others up. The bad thing is I have a full set of tires, but forgot them in the morning rush. Next year will be different, thats for sure. I realy liked the start and the water crossing. The best part was the parade through town, everyone was waving, and there were quads as far as I could see, i was in the back with the beginners. I am now getting ready to hite all the xc races I can make time for. This was a lot of fun, and everyone I talked to was real friendly. i even had one guy offer me one of his extra tires, but it was already into the second lap. Those last pictures I posted were from the first lap, and the first were from the second lap. This was a well run race, and I hope everyone on here can make it to the next one.

Where exactly is this race? Looks like fun. Do they run it just once a year?

What is the terrain like? All XC or a little MX mixxed in?

The race is run the last weekend in June each year. It is an XC race and part of the Missouri Hare Scrambles Series. I think that there where 162 ATV's this year. Have not heard the money count raised this year for the March of Dimes by the riders. This race has a little of everything in it from hills, wide open, to very tight woods.
Hope that you liked it and will come back next year with some other people.

Wow that sucks! Great pics! I got a flat from a THORN! The hole is big enough that after 30 min of riding its flat...

I'll be at the race in Oct. Hopefully this time I will finish. That was my whole goal going into the GP. Is there anywhere I can see the finnishing times. I looked on the board befor I left, but only at my class. It was not until I was 75 miles away that i got to wondering how the other classes did. I got my new fronts on order along with a skid. i have never had a flat in 15 years of riding, then I go to flat river and get 2 in less than 3 weeks. Hopefully I will not have anotherone for a long time.

There was just under $30,000 raised at this years Racers for Research/Flat River Grand Prix. I am the chairman of the event, and we just got that total from the March of Dimes.
