i would say yes but i don't really know cause i don't have a 400
but i rebuilt my uncles TTR500 it had a metall one, and i think it was 3 layer
the reason i say yes is because cork would not hold in the compression of the engine as well as a metal one would and a metal one can withstand the heat of the engine and would expand and contract with the motor, unlike cork would, and you don't what your piston hitting your head gasket
mainly why they would put a metal one in is because it is in the combustion chamber
;)
yes...OWM head gasket for a 400ex is a 3 layered metal one....and it is the best gaskets to sue.ive been through many head gaskets...all of my cometics ened up blowing....so get the OEM gasket...and get a copper gasket sealnt in an aerosol can....give it a layer and make sure to spray in between the 3 sections...wait till tis tacky...then pop it on, pop the head on and tourque bolts down in a criss cross patern(importan you do that so you do not warp the head gasket) to 32 lb's
