i finally got to the track with my arms and elkas. i was very happy. i only bottomed out twice the whole day and that was over an 80 foot table that i flatlanded on. other than that they were great. i dont see how people think elkas are bad but i must say that i had no problems wit them at all.

Glad you like your Elkas, but I have a question would you say Elka's, works, TCS, are better all round shocks? And Pep and Axis are more for the big air guys? Or is it just preference?

well i don't know about shocks too much, but my friend RACES, and he runs axis on his 416 and 465, and swears buy them, says that they are just what he was looking for, but then again, he ONLY rides them on a track

I just got a elka daul rate 0 preload for my atc250r, gonna ride it htis weekend, should be a big improvement over worn stock and the forks are getting redone with progessive springs and new seals. I hope to be styling in the suspension department, next month the motor.

Its my wifes 86R....(.I also hve a full set of AXIS on my 88 but they arent as pretty as these).....Im thinking the front plastic needs to go to fullbore, a clear Carke stock size tank,,,,,,and a custom seat cover from quadtech or graves is in order:cool:

And thanks for the compliment;)

axis are zero preloads right??

if so do they do the 0 preload with a spring like elka and pep or do they do it through valving??

i just wanted to know becuase i hear a lot of good stuff on axis and i am in the market for some lt shocks... i think i might get axis or tcs, i don't want to wait for ever on peps...

axis are not "0 preload" however, they do sag like a mofo and are the best shocks out there in MY opinion....i have some PEP Zps on right now and it is my 3rd set, but my next will be axis

I have to agree...........i have hit stuff with my axis on my R and i know that if i would have had lesser shocks.........i would have been a hurting unit:scary:

can you say a rough guess how much a set of lt comp only triple rate axis shocks would run for??

axis doesn't make a "quad rate" do they?

and is it just me or does their sit not give to much info about the shocks?? i was looking for more info on the lt fronts and rear but i just applications and stuff like that...

From AXIS what is the lowest and highest price they charge for fronts and rears? Thanks! :D

CBW

You guys would have to call C&D or axis for prices. Mine was roughly 875 or something for the standard rate rear,,,and 1275 for the dual rate fronts for standard a arms.

Chris did you get Rebound adjust on the Fronts?
Houser has LT Triple Rate Dual Adjust Axis for $1,325 for MX. They list the Comp. Adjust only for XC at $1,175. I would check with C&D but I was just giving an estimate.

yeah the adjustments are expensive, but its a good idea to get the comp. adj. atleast, i like how axis has the dial numbered where my PEPs sometimes its hard to feel the click then one shock is stiffer than the other...i have axis and pep right now and it seems the axis just have better parts and details and for me work better..im not comparing them to elka, just PEP

I got my elka's as a first set of aftermarket over stock. I must say I really like them. If I switch to long travel I'm going with PEP, just to try something different, I think all the companies make a fine product. However, all I have to say is if you want PEP order them in the winter, cause you won't be seeing them until summer!

I got my elkas on my doorstep in 7 days, and have never had a problem...my buddies just got their peps last week....it has been 6 months for them!

Well maybe they were 1175,,,,,,,I got them a year and a half ago or something directly from AXIS and didnt take time to find the receiptso lets say i paid 1175 give or take $100...........:D

Even if i overpaid i am satisfied with them...its no big deal really...;)

When yu call up and get shocks theyr will ask you what kind of a arms you are running.........and make the shocks for them. For LT you will need LT a arms.
