I have a 300ex and the back of the frame is cracked and bent pretty bad. I was wondering if there was some way to put a 400ex's subframe on the 300? It would save me like $300 instead of buying a new frame.

If you can weld, just about anything is possible with a frame.

sounds like a lot of work. and then will the plastics mount up okay? and what abt all the battery and electrical parts?

well if i put the 400s subframe on, im not gonna use the stock engine. i would probably try a crf250 engine in it.

:huh the motor has nuthing to do with the subframe. The only difrence would be not having a battery, but you would still have to bend it to fit were it mounts to the frame drill hoes then plus your back plastic proubly wouldnt be inline with the front plastic no more. Sound like a bad idea to me unless you got one laying around and a hole lot of extra time.

PS: you would proubly need a new air boot for the carb too cause the airbox would proubly be a difrent length away from the carb.
