your not going to get many responses in here probably.. try the powertrain section, will get alot more there..

also try searching there from the bottom of page where the search is.. there are Many topics already osted there about this..

im not personally sure about any risks to it myself, but i do know it isnt very effective..

octaine boosters only raise the octane level 2 or 3 points!
Thats points not full numbers. so if you are running on fuel with a octane level of 98 and you add a booster to it you will only get 98.2 or 98.3 thats not really even worth the $3 - $9 you paid for the little bottle.

nah dude, where did you get that info?:huh

i think it raises 96 to 102, unless you are gettin some different stuff:ermm:

But than I stumbled across this graph just today. This is the results of a test preformed by independent analysts Intertek Testing Services (Australia) P/L – Petroleum Laboratory. The laboratory is NATA registered and operates the only truly independent "octane engines" in Australia.

As you can see the 104+ in the red bottle actually lowered the level and the super 104 in the black bottle only raised it by .9

hm

how come it says this here

Notes: Common ingredient in Octane Boosters in a can. 12-16 ounces will only raise octane 2-3 *points*, i.e. from 92 to 92.3.

then this here

Mixtures with 92 Octane Premium
10%...........94.5 Octane
20%...........97.0 Octane
30%...........99.5 Octane

it shows with 10% it raised it 2.5 and it says up there that it would only raise it .2-.3

The .2 and .3 is what you will get if you buy it off of the shelf but if you mix your own and make the percentage of the chemical that actually boosts the octane level at a stronger percent than you will get a higher overall octane level
