Holeshot XC's for me. Like the rim protection they offer , plus a great combo of traction and slide ability.

Honestly looking seriously at Razor 2's though.

Thats an easy one. Got to like the ones that dont get flats period. :)

So that would be the Kenda desert dog/knarly cause you just cant jurt these things.

nothin better than a holeshot or razr, look on the front lines, that tells the story

My choice would be the xcr or the Klaw and the Klaw is cheaper.

I ran a set of Holesot XCTs Front and Rear in the 2001 GNCC series
Put 11 races on one set and only one flat. They are a little heavy but it was rare to get stuck, and pushed a lot of quads with 20's out of ruts, wish I had a PRM summit then.

Razr2's all the way. I just got them recently, i really like them. If I road just hard packed I would probuably pick just the Razr's. The Razr2's cost way to much. Hopefully they last a while.

By the way how are Shredders? My friend wants to get them for his blaster.

Do you still run XCT's now and in 2002? I was always curious about those. How bad do they eat up the power?:ermm:

Got any pics of them on your quad?

I have Holeshots XCT's and couldn't be more happy with them. They are a great overall tire for hook up and sliding abilities. I havn't heard much about the (XC) Klaw tires, though.

I have heard alot of good things about Razr's, also. I would like to see how they perform against the holeshots and the klaws.

I only ran two GNCC races in 02 and none so far this year. they are still on my 400 now, but I just got some Hipers and am trying to get some $$ for some new XCRs

They ate up a little bit of power but since the rears are 22" i dropped a tooth on the front sprocket and that seemed to help out quite a bit.

So maybe we got a sub question, 20" or 22" rears?

The knarlys that I have are the smallest 20" tire I have seen, and there closer to 19". Thats great for handling but not so much for rutts and mud etc.

I was thinking about the claw xc rear since they seem to hold up and hook up well and are priced well also, but after seeing those new XCR's on silverfox's ride I have been checking them out also. Only prob there is the fronts and rears wouldnt match again so I guess I would need to buy the fronts too.

Although I have the Holeshot XC's, XCT's, and XCR's, I would really like to try the Razr 2's. A lot of racers in my class (C) that use them have switched from Holeshots to Razr 2's and found that the Razr 2's have more bite that the Holeshots.

As for power loss with the 22's in the rear... Definetly. I too have went down a tooth up front (14) and went with a 416 kit... Very noticeable improvement, but when I put the 20's on from time to time, I notice I have a lot more fun riding the atv... No hesitation! Unless it happens to be muddy, deep ruts, snow, etc. The 22's are a little heavier than the 20's, and the diameter is very noticeable over the 20's... But I would rather have the 22's for XC than 20's for ground clearance reasons, my fat butt gets stuck a lot with the 20's.

I too like the Holeshot tires for the rim protection feature they have... Definetly protects the rims!:) Kudos to ITP for that feature!:macho

Hopefully you enjoy them as much as I do.

Note: Every time I go to Hatfield McCoy trails there in West Virginia, I always run my 23"/22" combo.:)

It is a great feeling conquering a deeply rutted hill or a trail when others fail due to their smaller tire size!:macho :D

Good luck!!

BTW... Sounds like you have a good gear ratio for them! I currently run a 14t and 38t. Again, I hope everything works out great! Keep us informed!

malin, and rico...gentleman, just a quick thanks on the positive words of a 23/22 combo...ran em 15hrs this weekend over the exact same stuff always did with a 22/20, a full range of wv terrain. They did great! the 14/39 combo helps too. Really surprised at the difference! Only thing she didn't pull was a unexpected mud/water hole bout to the knees! lol, think that was a little much for an ex...thnx again
