will a stock 400ex axle fit in a 300ex. are they any longer than the 300's? i need one cheap and was going to buy one off ebay or something:confused:

Are you sure, I used 400ex axle bearings in my bothers 300ex. Everyhting worked, but I don't know if the splines and stuff line up for the brakes and sprocket.

I do not know the exact reason why the 400ex axle will not work on a 300ex, but unfortunately, it does not... Sorry.:(

Something to consider:
- Alighnment of the chain from the 300ex engine to the 400ex axle
- Alighnment of the brake caliper
- Number of splines on axle
- Width of axle carrier on a 300ex versus that on a 400ex.

Yeah, I think the axle bearings are the same, but the bearing carrier is wider on the 400EX, so the brake rotor and sprocket are not in the same place.
