I would go with the AC's... they look awesome. The DG's look like squares. Are you getting propeg?

DG=Junk

i've known too many people that have thrown their money away by buying DG that only last's a couple weeks.

AC builds a much better product, not only their quality, but strength and durability.

I saw a pic. of a 250x with DG they are just like a box. I do not think that AC makes pro pegs for a 250x. do they? Thanx

01-13-2002, 08:01 PM
Ya, i would go with AC, for 1, they are most the time more cheap. I have heard some crap about DG and how stuff brake alot . I just bought some AC pro peg nerfs, at marcums atv btw, look nice!:D

AC all the way. I don`t think AC makes Pro-Pegs for the 250x. You could call and ask. If they do I would get the Pro-Pegs.

Whats everybodys problem with the DG nerfs? I have had mine for a while now and the only problem that I have had with them is the steel mounting brackets rusting. Is there something else wrong with DG?

AC`s look better, they are cheaper, and built much nicer than DG.

I agree with WarriorMan 110%. DG is not made as well, it's not as durable, and it doesn't even look half as good as AC.

I don't know about the nerf bars looking better, but I just got my AC front bumper in the mail today and it looks like a 4 year old made it! The welds look like sh*t, where they cut the mud screen looks like sh*t, and the mounting brackets/bars look like sh*t. It was really hard to mount, and it doesnt even look like its centered on the quad(left to right). The aluminum looks like it got all nicked up in the process of making the bumper too. I paid $19.99 just for 2nd day air shipping and it took 4 days to get! As you can tell, I'm kind of pissed about the whole thing. I would not recommend AC Racing products. Oh yeah, by the way, my DG nerfs look great and were way easier to mount compared to the bumper.

ac all the way , my cousin has dg on his and he hates it he is buying ac now, his nerfs constantly come loose and the brackets are a pain in the *** they also hit the ground alot , my ac look much better are more durable and ive never had a problem with them or my bumper wich has good welds and easily bolted up

01-14-2002, 09:15 PM

carlj75
01-14-2002, 09:31 PM
I must have gotten the wrong bumper or something. I just went to the AC website and all of the honda bumpers in their pictures are straight across. Mine is curved for some reason. Is it the new style?? Or is it for a different quad??

carlj75:
I don't know what the big deal with DG is either. I've got a set of DG nerf's on my 300EX and have no problems or complaints with them. They've been on there for 2 years now. Actually I got them from my younger brother after he had used them for a year. Webbing is fine, brackets stay tight. Nothing's broke or breaking yet...

Carlj75, I`ve never seen a AC Bumper like that. Mine looks like Freeridin400ex`s does. I would call AC and ask about it.

Come on guys, this is an easy one! He got an ABC bumper (already been crashed) I would talk to ac and see what they can do. I got the nerfs, and they fit perfectly, look great, and the welds are very clean. I had dg before, and never put them on. The welds where crap (splatter every where), and they required removal of the foot guards. With ac's you can go either way. Check out my site in my sig for some mounting pictures.

I think you go with what you like better...... I have DG and they have been holding up fine for a year already....... My brackets never came loose..... My welds are perfect...... No rust...... Webbing is like new...... I think if they are installed correctly You will not have any problem with them..... I have seen AC nerfs put on incorrectly and broke on a landing after my buddys foot came off the peg and hit the webbing....... They are both fine in my book....... :D

I`m glad I got my Bumper when I did. No offense, but I don`t think that Bumper looks as good as the "Old" one does.

I actually like how it curves around the front like that. When I get a better picture I will post it.

I have DG nerfs and like how they support my heel unlike the AC's. But if I were to have a set of AC nerfs I would have a custom pair like my buddies,

Go for the Graydon Proline nerfs....

carlj75
01-20-2002, 09:25 AM
joe250: the megamax sounds pretty good but mine is thrashed. If I bought an exhaust again, I would probably buy Yoshimura.

01-20-2002, 04:55 PM
Ac is cheeper, but i'd go with the DG's.

I got the AC Pro Pegs (fit perfect, welds are really good, and they are a whole lot stronger than my friends DG's that he bent) mine go up and flare out as they go towards the rear end. I also like the option of getting them polished to a chrome-looking finish before they ship them to you.

I got the polished bumper without the mudscreen, and it fit perfect too.

I kinda like the curved look of the new ones..

01-20-2002, 07:46 PM
hey quadkid why would u go with the DGs ?

I THINK YOUR AC BUMPER LOOKS AWESOME!! IT'S THE 2002 MODEL. I GUESS AC WAS WANTING A CHANGE. THAT CURVED LOOK IS PRETTY TRICK IF YOU ASK ME!
NOT TRYING TO BEAT YOU UP OR ANYTHING, BUT I THINK THE AC PROPEG NERFS ARE AWESOME. DG DOES LOOK A LITTLE SQUARE.
:D
HERE'S A PIC OF MY BUMPER!

PsychoDave

go for dg... they are strong, they look a little square though. I ride like a filthy animal and hold up very well. no probs yet. I have the pro pegs and the peg is set down and back about an inch. Moto-man has them ( or knock offs for 149 bucks) that is a great price!!!!

02-11-2002, 06:25 PM
For what it's worth, I have the DG's and I'm thinking about getting rid of them and getting the AC Pro-Peg. I rubbed one side pretty hard on a rock one time and they got scratched pretty bad, and they bend from time to time, and I just noticed the other day that one of the ubolt/bracket assy's has run away (but that's probably my fault for not double checking them recently). Anyways, my only concern is wether or not the heel-kick is set far enough back for my size 15 hoofs. I'm waiting to see somebody elses around here so I can "size" them up. Now that I think about it, AC Racing is local to me, so I should just drop by there and have a look . . . hey you guys are good! My problems get solved just by replying now! Thanks!
