When i finally put my 440 kit in along with my lectron carb, I plan on doing a valve adjustment. Should I increase the clearence because i am going to want to flow more gas and exhaust? Is this necessary or will the stock clearence work fine? Also, if it should be increased, what should the clearence be?

I would stay within the stock specs. If you want increased flow install larger vlaves.

Valve clearance should be at or near stock levels.

Valve clearance is not how you want to get more air/fuel into the motor. That will require a bigger cam. Which is really a good idea given the fact that a 10% bigger motor with more compression will move a lot more air than the stocker. With no other mods, your effective power will be at a lower RPM than a stocker. You'll make more power, but the "meat" of the power will be at a lower RPM.

The larger carb, on the other hand, is supposed to increase power mostly at higher RPM's. In order to really make use of the additional airflow of the carb, you'll likely need a bigger cam.

In your motor, the cam will become the limiting factor for power.

Porting will help out to.
