Got an email back from C&D Racing with some quotes, they said for the Ross 440 kit at 11.2:1 with gaskets, it was $225- for the 426 at 11.2:1 it was $140 with gaskets, and he reccomended a Hotcam stage 2 for $126.

Those seemed like pretty good prices to me, but I have a couple simple questions- how much more performance could I have if I went with 11.2:1 and ran a 93/Race gas mix or just got the 10.8:1 and ran premium alone...would it be worth it?

I am going to have the shop that did the work on my truck bore the cylinder, but about how much do shops charge for a bore/hone and a sleeve/bore/hone job?

I am really debating between the 426 and 440, hear good about both, but I'm at the point where my thing is as long as I'm in the motor, might as well make the bore as big as I can. What do you guys think? At least for now I'm not going to have it ported and valves/springs done or buy a new carb, the 440 will run fine with my current setup right if rejetted...just not to its full potential??

Well hey thanks a lot for your help and opinions...

i would save the noney and go with the 426 or a 416. my friend has a 440 with just a cam and my 416 smokes his. i got the same cam just ported the head and stuff. i would save the 100 bucks and put it into the head or carb or something. jmo

Hey Bro ,

I have a new complete 440 Kit with a hot cam for sale $ 300 + ship..if your interested. FYI you do not have to bore the 400ex cylinder to resleeve it is a press fit.
