I have the plug(pic below ) in since August of this year and it is all black.. i am running a 160 main , need some in put, i would like to change the main jet then while it is in piece for the service

Since there is no pic, and you said its all black and that youve had it since august of this year, I'm guessing you found that your bike wouldnt start, pulled the plug, then found that it was fouled.

replace, put some time on it, then do a full throttle plug test, then see what color it is.

you are probably a bit too rich. you should be able to feel it riding and i may be hard to start if is really bad. i dont know the stock jet size of a 400, i have a 300 which is i think 122. I have a 128 in mine. it runs fine w/ the air filter and pipe.

no it has been starting pretty easly until it dropped below 10 degrees then it was a pain but other words it has been fine no back firing or poping of some sort ... i wonder maybe it is just old plug, i cahnge the plug every 4-6 months with my oil to make sure every thing is running right..
stock jetting for the 400 is 148 main and i am running a 160, i might go down to a 155 and try that out

i have never changed my plug sinse i got it, which was 7 months ago in july. Mine looks perfect.

i have a 2001 300ex and i have an 116 main jet,42 pilot, and on the second clip from the bottom on the needle.And i am running rich. What jet should i do to make it run good.Also, i have the mods that you see in the signature and a 11:1 high comp. piston.

my plug looked like dat to, only it took one day to do that, then it blew thepiston, so i am gunna try to get an FCR in it, and fix it
