I just got my 416 kit from marcums today(10.8 je and xr400 cam). There is an arrow on the piston, should this be pointing to the intake or the exhaust ? Also alsong with the 3 rings there are 2 extra thin rings which look look like an oil wiper of some sort. The stock piston doesnt have these. Do these thin rings go above or below the 2 normal rings? Thanks for your help the motor should be back together tomorow :D

just makin sure, but you did get the motor bored right? cause if you didnt, you should notice that the piston doesnt fit.

But, the arrow points to exhaust side, im almost %100 sure. ask rico, or knighttime, they will know for sure.

The arrow on the piston should point to the front tires. You can double check by looking at the valve circles on the piston. The bigger circles should be on the front side (towards the front tires). Also make sure u put those rings in correctly. They have chamfers on them.

Well it looks like im gonna get real good at rebuilding it. I just finished putting it together and im not sure if i have the rings in the correct way now that u say that  . I looked at the rings before I put them on the piston and didnt think they were chamfered. Well I guess its better to be safe then sorry.
