Recon / 250EX

i have a question about the recon and 250ex. are they the same exact frame? if so would the pipe for a 250ex fit on a recon? will a bumper or the plastics? could someone just run through the similarities of these two quads?

the engine is the same but the 250ex has a lot better gear ratios. the 250 ex has a completly different chasis and the suspension is 10 times better. the plastic is different, and there isnt any mud flaps on a 250ex, or anyother honda EX. on the 250ex you dont have the weight of the racks and the 250ex will not KILL but certenly leave the recon a place in last in a race. i dont know about putting on te same pipe. i think i am going to have to put on a k&n air filter from the recon on my 250ex because i dont think they make one. i know a lot of companies are making pipes for the 250ex, W.B e series, Big Gun, and pro circuit. i dont know if they will bolt on to a recon.

a 250ex doesnt have racks or mud flaps? my question was will 250ex plastics fit on a recon not are they the same.

If I'm not mistaken the motors share quite a bit (if not all) the same parts, but the frames are different.

FMF is making a Megamax 2 and K&N makes an air filter and jetkit.

i would almost bet u could get a 250ex pipe on arecon, there motors are almost identical, jus the ratio stuff, u might hav to mod the pipe a bit

I know that the frames are different, but about the exhaust, I still have my stock and if I have the time I will look at my friends little brother's recon and see if the bolt pattern and stuff would match up. but they now make everything for the 250ex that they make for the recon. Its just that most stores wont have their new magazines to order from probably until sometime in Feb.

The engines are very close to being the same except for top end on the 2001. The 2002 have the exact engines if I remember right.
Does anyone have the part # for K&N filter for 2001 250ex?

waloud - the box that my k&n came in has a sticker on it that says HA - 2597 .




brokeitin2 - factory front wheels on the 250ex are 10 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches in width. 10x5.5 .

SO K&N USES THE SAME PART# FOR EX&RECON FILTER
