I wrecked my 300ex not long ago and im putting it back together in a new frame but i want more power. I dont have the money to go out and buy a new quad so i thinking of a high compression piston. I plan to be racing harescrambles and im just wondering how this would work? Also does any machine work need to be done to the quad or can i just put the piston in the stock engine? Do i also need heavy duty valve springs and stuff like that to go with the piston? Any help would be great.

No modifications required for a high comp piston, just make sure your cylinder is in good shape. You only need heavy-duty valve springs if you get a high performance camshaft (which I recommend if you are completely rebuilding your engine for more power)

Do you know what a better compression is to make it more powerful? Im not sure of the stock but i thinks its 11 something. Also, How much does a good camshaft cost? Also, whats a good place to buy the camshaft from?

I don't know what it is, but I would guess something like 9.2:1
That seems to be about normal.

if you want good power with a high comp juste get a wiseco 11:1 comp .080 over. it makes it a 305. thats what i did to my old 300 and it ran really good.
